Kevin Johnson Riding at Castillo Ranch and More

Well everyone this past week has
been a fun one! I am still riding and training
hard for Supercross, even though the outdoors is coming soon. I’m riding a little motocross, but my main
concentration is still Supercross. I
have been riding a 426 the past two weeks for fun and let me tell you it is a
blast. The bike has awesome power and
Enzo set up my suspension perfect. I road
two days out at the Elsinor Supercross track.
The track there is all right but the track is getting worn out so it is
not very difficult. But it is still
good practice.
On Wednesday I went with David
Pingree to a track that was some were in the middle of no-were. It was a good track, but it was in really
bad shape. We road quite a bit and had
a good time.
The highlight of my week was going
to Castillo Ranch. It is about two hours
north of Los Angeles. Davie Castillo, whose
father owns Innovation Sports (the makers of CTI knee braces, and asterisk),
invited Pingree, Ivan Tedesco, Jiri Dostal, and I out to do some riding. I was stoked. There is a perfect Supercross track on the property and lots
numerous fun hills and jumps to do.
We drove up on Friday morning and
road the rest of the day. The
Supercross track has to be the best one I have ever ridden. It has two big triples; two hard whoop
sections, and the greatest rhythm sections of any track I’ve encountered. We did the track forwards and backwards and
had a blast. After we put in some hard
laps it was time to play ride. There
were so many fun jumps! They have two
big doubles over 100ft. long that were incredible. We did those for a while.
Then we headed for the biggest jump ever. Travis Pastrana built a take off ramp on the upslope of a huge
mountain with the landing area 200 feet away.
We did this jump for about a half an hour. It is the most fun/insane jump I have ever done in my life. I had to hit it in fifth gear on my
426. I would go wide open and then
coast off the face. It was flat out
awesome.
Pingree and Tedesco had to hit it as fast as their 125s
would go. We all decided that it was
the best jump ever made. After this we
went back to the house and worked out for two hours then ate some steak and
went to bead. I had enough. The next day we got up and did it
again! These had to be some of the best
days of my life!
As a side not I want to let everyone
know that I plan on racing the St. Louis and Pontiac Supercross races. I am not sure which class but most likely
will be the 125.
Thanks of everyone who has visited
my web site and has supported me in my career.
See you at the races.
