Dear: Fans

Well, the first round is over and I survived. At the start of the SX Season there is so much excitement at the first round.  People want to impress sponsors and leave their mark!  Too many times people try too hard at the first round to gain recognition and this causes a lot of injuries and misfortune.

I set two goals for myself coming into the first round.  I wanted to walk away unscathed and finish in the top ten.  I accomplished both goals, so I would say that the night was very successful.  Coming into the night I was worried that I would not accomplish one of the goals.  I figured as long as I used my head I would probably walk away form the weekend, but I did not have the confidence in myself to finish top ten overall.

It took me too long to get going in practice.  I did not do a whole lap well until the final practice.  This scared me and made me think that I was not ready, but when the Heat Races came around I rode really well.  In my Heat race, I bumped into some people on the start and my choke got pulled out and bent down.  I rode the entire heat with my choke partially open.  But, I pulled it off and still got fifth.

In the main, I got a good jump, but I over revved my bike in second and ended up in the mid pack.  Next, I decided to fall over on my own just to make it harder to get a top ten.  I got up in last and started charging.  I had two good passing lines. The whoops, (because my Enzo suspension is so freeken good) and a triple triple section, because my Big Gun motor is so freeken fast.  I ran ten laps as hard as I could and found myself in tenth.  I could not find any more energy to catch Craig Anderson of Team Yamaha of Troy.  He finished ninth and I was right behind him at the finish.  I wish I would have passed him, but I met my goals and had fun!  Now, I figure I need some harder goals.

See you at the next races!
