Kevin Johnson Calls it a Year - Surgery Day Set - 2004 SX is Next

Well, Budds
Creek was a bittersweet day for me. I had my best weekend of the Outdoor
National Season. I had consistent laps and pulled out two top ten
motos. In the first moto, I ran sixteenth for most of the moto.
With two laps to go, I messed up and both Gosselaar and Metcalf got me.
But I hung in for an 18th place finish, which isn't bad.
In the second moto, I got off to a decent start. I ran some bad laps
early in the moto and went backwards. But at the ten-minute mark, I
straightened it out and got to business. I made it by a few guys and
ended up 15th. At the end of the second moto, I had Andrew Short, Lalloz,
and Boniface right in front of me. It was the first moto this year that I
wished was longer. I might have been able to get one or two of those guys
if I had a few more laps. It was a good race for me. Unfortunately
it was my last race I will run this year.
I am sad to
tell everyone I am getting knee surgery on June 25th. I blew out my MCL
back at the Pontiac Supercross. At Hangtown, I blew out my ACL. I
figure it is best to get it fixed now and be ready to come back next
year. Thanks for all your prayers and support. Look for me next
year with a nice two-digit number.
