Atlanta had some mixed feelings for me.  I actually road well! I finished 10th in the 125 East Main and it was a fun night for me! Unfortunately my brother, Keith Johnson was hurt pretty bad in practice crash.  I want to start by saying that he is going to have a full recovery.  He crashed on Friday in practice.  He ended up getting knocked out for about two minutes.  He finally came to and thought he was in Indy, so we knew things were not good from the start.  At the hospital, he felt a lot of pain and I could see in his face that something was really wrong.  It turned out that he had fractured a couple vertebrae in his back.  He broke a few ribs and one broken rib put a small hole in a lung.  The punctured lung would account for his breathing problems.  He also had a lacerated Adrenal gland.  He was bleeding internally, but not much.

I stayed with him all afternoon on Friday and things were getting a little scary.  They decided that he was stable and would not need surgery, which was a good relief.  He has been in the Hospital a few days now and is hoping to get out soon.  Everything is healing nicely and he has been pretty fun to hang out with.....Perkiest are great drugs.  I would just like to thank everyone for being so responsive and supportive of this whole thing.  I appreciate the words of kindness and the prayers.  All the great people in this sport really made it easier on us to go through this.  Also, I would like to thank Asterisk and their medical team for being at the races and doing such a great job. Most of all thanks to my team for being there for him......It really meant a lot to Keith.

Thanks,

Kevin Johnson

P.S. My other teammate, Eric Vallejo had a scary get off, but is at home in Dallas recovering.  Please keep both of them in your prayers.
