Well, sorry I haven't kept everyone up to speed
Well,
sorry I haven't kept everyone up to speed. I have had a lot going
on. The first few rounds of the Outdoor Nationals I got my butt
kicked. I didn't even make the mains. I don't really have a specific
reason.....just a lot went wrong. I couldn't get starts, I was crashing,
and it took me a few laps to get up to speed and when you are riding a four lap
qualifying race that just doesn't cut it.
Then
my brother got really hurt and I had to deal with that. It sucks to see
someone close to you get hurt that bad. It makes you wonder why you are risking
so much. Well anyway, I was on the road and my practice bike broke so I
had to start practicing on an YZF450. I was kind of surprised how fast I
could ride it so I decided to race it at Budds.
In
the first moto, I ran 7th for 14 minutes till Tim Ferry and I crashed
together. I proceeded to crash again and finish up 23rd. In the
second moto, I road consistently and finished in 18th, not bad for my first
race on a 450. Maybe the bike just suits me? If I keep up the work
I might just be the next privateer 250 rider to get a full ride. (talking about
Hamblin).
I
have some more bad news. I crashed practicing for Red Bud and knocked
myself out. I am not sure if I was totally unconscious, but I definitely
have a concussion. I will not be making it to Red Bud. My doctor
told me if I hit my head again soon I could end up with permanent brain
damage. I don't want that. To all my sponsors: sorry. I hope
I can come back at full speed for Unadilla.
I
also want to say that there have been some really awesome things going on in my
life and I am looking forward to the future. Talk to you soon.
