Well at Unadilla, I got off to a good start to the weekend

Well at Unadilla, I got off to a good start to the weekend.  I got a great start in my qualifier and finished up in second behind Craig Anderson.  I was actually enjoying the track and having fun. That seems to happen when you are riding well.  In the first moto, I got an ok start and ran around 18th for the first ten minutes.  Unfortunately, I took a hard fall and ended up getting hit by another rider.  Sorry to who ever that was.  When you fall in a rut, you are going to get hit by whoever is close behind.  That brings up a good point; I am from New Mexico where there are no ruts.  I don't think we have one solid formed rut.  We have sand berms and sand ruts, but you have to be careful because they blow out easily.  We don't get good ruts that you can charge through very often.  I definitely struggled with the ruts out there at Unadilla.

In the second moto, I think I beat one person to the first turn.  It was an awesome start to the race.  I ran off the track in the second turn and ended up side-by-side battling for last.  I road great and went from basically last to 15th place.  I think that is the best I have ever ridden in an Outdoor National.  I passed the guys for 16th and 17th in the same section.  I was pumped and riding good.  Then I had a wonderful idea.  I decided that 15th was just too good.  I accidentally passed too many guys so, I crashed and finished outside of the top 20.  I am pretty sure that I fell over because I started loosing focus a little and thinking I was a cool guy for going pretty fast.  I will remember that I am just an average guy who rides a dirt bike and no trophy or money lasts forever.   I will keep in mind why I race.......I have been blessed with ability and I want to Glorify God with that ability.  Nothing more!
