I finally had a good weekend on the track. I have
had lots of good weekends with good friends, fans, and family, but I haven't
had two good motos all year long. It turns out if I get an ok start and
don't fall down; I finish up in the top 20. I had good Qualifiers and
rode great. I got to battle with my cousin Justin Buckelew, and good friend
Jeff Gibson. In the motos, I just rode 35 minutes consistently.
First moto I started about 28th and worked up to 19th. It was awesome! I
was out battling with Jeremy McGrath. We passed each other back and forth
about five times. Man it was fun! With about ten minutes to go I
was in 17th and ended up getting passed back by McGrath and then Chad Reed; who
had crashed on the start got me on the last lap to put me in 19th. Moto
two was a little different, I actually fell in the second turn with quite
a few guys. I got up and took off right behind Sean Hamlin. I
stayed right on his butt for 25 minutes. We carved our way through the
field. It was a really cool feeling to pass some guys who are usually
faster than me. I even got up so far that I was battling for 15th with
Hamlin and Kyle Lewis. It was really fun. I got a little tired and
ended up getting passed back by Gibson at the end. I finished 17th. It
was a fun weekend. I also got to spend some time with my team owner Bobby
Rehgan. Man he is a cool and funny redneck. I would like to take
this opportunity to thank him for all that he has done for me. He has put
a lot into the past two years and I appreciate all of it.
