Kevin Johnson Podiums in His First Weekend on the National AX Series at IA

This past weekend was the first round of the Arenacross
series. It went better than I had
expected. The weekend started out a
little sketchy. I wasn't comfortable on my new bikes right away, but things
fell together. Practice was a sad note.
Tommy Hofmaster fell off and got pretty beat up. Thank God that he was
not as bad as was first thought. Once
racing got underway things went ok. I
am the worst starter ever! I got bad
starts all night long on Friday and had to battle just to get into the Mains.
Friday Night
In the 125 Main, I started dead last and ended up getting
4th. I was very happy with my
finish. There isn't much time between
the 125 and 250 Mains, so it was different from what I am used to racing. I went out in the 250 and accomplished my
goal to be consistent and finish in the top 5.
I finished 5th after a hard charge from the back. I also won the Jump Off contest Friday, and
Saturday night.
Saturday Night
Saturday was a little better. I won my heat race in the 125 and then made the podium in the
Main with a 3rd. In the 250, I had to
go to the semi, but it was ok. I got a
bad start in the 250 Main and started charging. I ended up messing up in the whoops and going off the track. After this all I could do was get back to
9th. I was pretty mad about this and am
going to hopefully not finish outside of the top 5 from now on
I am so thankful for the Lord providing me with Team
Faith. I am thankful for the situations
I am put in and the opportunities that come up. Thanks to everyone for their
support and prayers. If you want to
