Well, I am not racing the world rounds, but I need to send
in an update on how the Arenacross series has been going. I am still in third in points, which is
good. But I haven't had that many good
races lately. I have had a few fifths
and fourths, but not many podiums. I
have been training hard and practicing starts so hopefully this next weekend in
Rockford things will go good. This past
weekend I raced at Cycle Ranch in San Antonio, TX. The weekend was a huge disappointment. I did ok in the first moto and finished up in sixth. I was riding a 250 2-stroke, which was not
the best choice. But, I had fun and it was a good track.
In the second moto, I DNFed. My bike locked up and I had to
push it back. I was up set considering
I was running seventh and charging hard.
I went down to scoring to see what I ended up getting because for some
dumb reason they paid overall, instead of per-moto. I figured that I would end up around 15th overall, which I should
have. That would have been enough money
to break even. I, however, ended up
21st overall, which paid nothing. Their
scoring was different than any race I have ever done. Since I DNFed they added 20 points to where
I was at. This
caused me to finish 46th in the second moto instead of 26th. I don't know why, or how they get away with
making up their own rules like that when they are claiming AMA rules, but
whatever. That is just the way it goes
sometimes when you race little po-dunk races.
They have the right to do whatever they want to I guess. I shouldn't be so rude. They did a great job on the races and it was
a lot of fun. I just don't understand
where they get their scoring info from?
I guess when you tell, people that you aren't in it for the money, then
you are going to have to back that up every now and then. Don't get me wrong this is how I make a
living and I need it to pay the bills.
But when I tell people that God is better than anything that this world
has to offer, then I better be able to live what I say. Which is what I will close with.
At the end of the day, I could still say that Jesus is my strength,
and I will always have Him when I stumble and have a bad day. Praise God that He is good and I don't have
to rely on myself....if I did I would be in a world of hurt all the time. Thanks to all who are behind me and Team Faith. I appreciate it a lot.
God Bless,
Kevin Johnson
